Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive method that occurs with the help of modern technology (optic fibers), aiming for joint endoscopy and treatment of common joint problems and diseases). Only a very small and bloodless incision (0,5 cm) is required, to allow for the insertion of the appropriate tools. An important requirement is general or epidural anesthesia and a single day in which the patient must remain into hospital.

This method is used to treat:

  • Meniscus tears and ligament ruptures (anterior and posterior cruciates).
  • Οsteochondal lessions (microfractures, mosaic plasty or OATS).
  • Patellar dislocations.
  • Rotator cuff tears.
  • Shoulder dislocations (Bankart lessiosns).
  • Impingement syndromes.

Τhe method achieves very fast and complete recovery. Surgical recovery of athletic problems both in professional and amateur athletes can occur with PRP transfusion (platelet-rich plasma, derived from the athlete’s blood) and important indications are chronic and acute tendinitis, and chronic syndromes, due to repeated and cumulative microdamage. The contribution of our team of physiotherapists is vital in for a conservative recovery.

The surgeon is a member of the Sports Medicine Assossiation of Greece.
